Franco Pozzi “Collezione” Ceramic Set with DYBS 69 Design Label, Italy, 1970s
CHF 120
A striking three-piece ceramic set by Ceramica Franco Pozzi, Italy, from the Collezione line, dating most likely from the late 1960s to 1970s.
The set consists of a tall jug / pot, a smaller milk jug and a lidded sugar bowl, all in a vivid glossy blue glaze. The forms are typical of late 1960s and 1970s design: rounded but controlled, practical yet visually strong, with softened geometric lines and distinctive squared handles.
All three pieces carry the original Franco Pozzi / Collezione labels and are also marked on the base with “Collezione / Ceramica Franco Pozzi / Gallarate – Italia”. Particularly interesting is the additional round label “selection design suisse / dybs 69 / Yverdon”, placing the set in the Swiss industrial design context around Design à Yverdon / DYBS 69, the first Swiss Industrial Design Biennale held in Yverdon in 1969.
This label should be understood as a design-selection or design-context label rather than a confirmed award label. It gives the set an additional Swiss design connection and makes it especially interesting beyond its already strong Italian ceramic design appeal.
A rare and highly decorative set — bold in colour, compact in form, and with a fascinating Italian-Swiss design story.
