Pair of Italian Uranium Studio Glass Birds, 1960s–1970s
CHF 170
A charming pair of small Italian uranium studio glass birds in yellow-green glass, most likely dating from the 1960s–1970s.
Each bird is individually formed with a rounded body, elongated tail and stylised head. The expressive applied eyes, with blue and red detail, give the pair a lively and almost playful character. In daylight, the glass has a warm vaseline-yellow tone; under UV light, both birds glow intensely green.
The design sits within the broader Venetian glass tradition of the mid-20th century, where small figural glass objects and animal sculptures were produced by a number of workshops and furnaces. The pieces are not by Cenedese, as confirmed by the Cenedese furnace, and no specific maker attribution is made.
A decorative pair with strong collector appeal — small in scale, but full of personality, light and colour.
