Effetre Murano – Opaline Blue Swirl Glass Table Lamps, Italy 1970s
CHF 450
A matched pair of Murano glass mushroom lamps in a clear, luminous light-blue tone with a diagonal swirl pattern. The colour feels fresh, calm and expressive — notably less common than the more frequently seen white versions of this lamp form.
The lamps follow the classic Italian fungo / mushroom lamp typology of the 1970s/1980s: a softly rounded shade on a cylindrical base, executed in mouth-blown glass with a continuous swirl decoration. The diagonal pattern runs harmoniously across the entire form, adding movement while preserving the lamps’ quiet sculptural presence.
Depending on the bulb used, the light effect changes noticeably. With warm-white light, the lamps appear softer and more atmospheric; with neutral-white light, the clear light-blue glass tone becomes more pronounced.
One of the two lamps still carries the transparent Vetri Murano / VM label with code 022. This code is commonly associated in Murano label references with Effetre Murano Srl. The label supports the Murano origin; the dating is therefore described carefully as late 20th century, circa 1970s–1990s.
