This pair of industrial stools was produced by NEOLT of Bergamo, the Italian manufacturer best known for professional drawing tables, drafting machines and equipment for architects, engineers and technical schools. Founded in Bergamo in 1941, NEOLT expanded from precision drawing equipment into office and technical furniture during the 1960s and 1970s.
Each stool combines a warm wooden seat with an ivory-painted metal frame and a circular chromed footrest. The four-legged base gives the stools a sturdy, almost architectural stance, while the central mechanism allows the seat height to be adjusted for different working positions.
Their form is typical of the practical furniture once found alongside drawing boards in technical institutes, architectural offices and workshops: robust, straightforward and designed to withstand daily use. Similar NEOLT stools are documented from professional schools in the Bergamo area, reflecting the company’s close connection with technical drawing and vocational environments.
