Art Deco – Central European Pressed Glass, Blue Geometry
CHF 115
A sculptural pressed‑glass bowl in deep blue, defined by the geometry and symmetry that shaped Central European Art Deco design. The form is bold: radiating stepped lines, fin‑like protrusions, and a wide, elongated footprint that gives the piece presence without heaviness. The glass catches light in a way that emphasises both the clarity of the material and the precision of the mould.
Based on form, colour, and production technique, the bowl aligns with Czechoslovakian Art Deco pressed glass of the 1930s–40s, a period known for strong geometric moulds and richly coloured glass. Makers such as Inwald, Rückl, Libochovice and related Bohemian factories produced closely related designs. Without a mark, the correct and collector‑safe attribution is “Central European Art Deco, ca. 1930s–40s.”
Condition is perfect — rare for a piece of this size and age.
A striking example of Deco glasswork that reads as both decorative object and sculptural form.
