Cast Footwear — Dora Metalworks, Türkiye, mid-20th century
CHF 990
Pair of full‑scale metal boot objects manufactured by Dora Metalworks (also known as Dora Foundry), a mid‑20th‑century Turkish workshop documented for producing cast metal decorative and utilitarian objects.
Each boot is cast in metal and formed as a three‑dimensional shoe. The undersides carry the original factory markings: DORA, DORA Globe, TURKMALL, and D 211 37. The numeric code likely refers to model designation and approximate shoe size.
Although the proportions correspond to a European shoe size 37, these boots are likely not intended for wear. Made of solid metal, they would be noticeably uncomfortable on an actual foot — their purpose is sculptural rather than functional.
Not your usual type of scrap metal — these are display pieces with presence.
