We’re Sylvia and Martin, the curators behind Brocante Lake Zürich.
Our shared passion lies in discovering objects that sit quietly between design, history, and everyday living. Pieces that don’t shout, but hold presence. Objects chosen not just for their age, but for their form, material, texture, and the way they live in a space.
What started years ago with markets, brocantes, and long walks through antique shops evolved into a clear curatorial vision. We select with intention — editing rather than accumulating — focusing on vintage, retro, and select antique pieces that integrate naturally into contemporary interiors.
We’re a German–New Zealand couple, shaped by years spent in London, New Zealand, and Germany, before settling by Lake Zürich, the place we now call home. The calm, clarity, and understated elegance of the lake influence our approach: thoughtful, considered, and never excessive.
The word Brocante connects our worlds.
For Sylvia, it recalls childhood memories of discovery and detail.
For Martin, it echoes London’s design-driven vintage culture.
Brocante Lake Zürich brings these influences together — heritage with a modern eye, character with restraint.
